Lee Sung Dang Bakery since 1945

Lee Sung Dang bakery is known to be the oldest bakery in Korea, established in 1945. The business was born in Gunsan, Jeollabuk-do province and the business continues until today even at the same location.

Lee Sung Dang has developed varieties of bakery and bread products throughout its lifetime which is over 70 years. However, its most famous products are the buns with red bean paste filling which is called danpatppang and the buns with vegetable filling which is called yachaeppang.

The danpatppang features thin but chewy bread filled with a delicious red bean paste. The yachaeppang is filled with a vegetable and meat mixture of cabbage, carrots, onions, celery, finely ground pork, and mayonnaise, giving the bread a distinct and rich flavor.

They also open a branch in Seoul, located in Lotte Department store at Jamsil. It is no surprise to see a long line extending from the inside of the store since everyone wants to go their and get the fresh danpatppang and yachaeppang. Each day there are limited amount of these two products and they even have time schedule when these two products will be served. (at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 6 p.m.)
